Cost of repair 2002 Jaguar X type - problem with differential?

Not particularly mechanical but Tuffy Muffler says there is problem with differential and possibly wheel bearings. Right front wheel (all wheel drive) doesn't rotate. Tuffy said I must take car to transmission shop or dealer. Got new transmission just 1 1/2 years ago. Any ideas as to possible problem and costs of repair?
