Rubber piece holding up muffler '99 Toyota Camry Solara?

The rubber piece you are speaking of is like a shock absorber for your muffler. It keeps it from vibrating the rest of the car. Usually you can spray it with wd-40 and it comes right off. There should be a metal bar that it will slide off of. Take the rest of the rubber pieces off and you should be able to lower the muffler.
