Has anyone had to admit a parent to a nursing home when the parent was ambulatory and didn't want to go in?

There are so many levels to this question I think the best thing for you to do is find an geriatric care manager. It may not be an affordable solution but it can't hurt to check. A geriatric care manager should be able to help find the right nursing home. It might also help to have someone who is less emotionally involved situation that can help you discuss options with your father.
