Baby sex change?????

So as you can tell I am really bored, and when I am bored I think really peculiar things. I was thinking of how in China or India were they have restrictions on children. Do you think any really demented parents would make there baby girl have a sex change to turn her into a boy and carry on the family name. Haha this is so strange I know, but do think it's every happened?
